The new DeVilbiss MicroPulse pneumatic conserving device can maintain optimal patient O2 saturation - even during exertion. This is achieved by delivering a series of small "micro-pulses" of oxygen throughout the patient inspiration. Other pneumatic conserving devices deliver a single, large bolus of oxygen at the onset of patient inspiration. This bolus may result in reduced conservation savings ratios, decreased patient comfort and O2 saturation during times of increased activity.
